THREE players have received their provisional Fiji Professional Golfers (Fiji PGA) Tour Card for the 2023 season.

The trio were part of the group of amateur golfers who participated in the Fiji PGA Q-School (qualifying school) tournament for the 2023 season at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club Course in Nadi earlier this month.

The three are tertiary student Prashal Chandra, businessman Nilesh Chand and former Ba Open Champion and national rep Lotawa Delana.

They will participate in their first tournament, which is the Gecko’s Trucking sponsored President’s Cup at the Denarau Course this weekend.

Fiji PGA treasurer Amitesh Chandra said the new inclusions had provisional status.

He said that meant they needed to finish in the top 15 of the 2023 Fiji PGA Order of Merit (OOM) to retain their card for the 2024 season.

“The rest of our professionals have full membership,” Chandra said.

“This year we hosted tournaments worth $100,000, but next year we hope to hold bigger tournaments with the support from our sponsors. The idea is to host 15 tournaments. We are grateful to all our sponsors for supporting us this season.”

Tomasi Tuivuna won the Fiji PGA 2022 Order of Merit earning 13408.3 points in 14 starts.
