Government will appoint a fiscal review committee which will look at Government’s expenditure and revenue policies with its tax policies.
Minister of Finance Professor Biman Prasad told the Sugar Industry Stakeholders Meeting on Wednesday, January 25 that the committee would consist of 10 or 11 members.
“As for my ministry, we are putting in place a process,” Prof Prasad said.
“We are going to appoint a fiscal review committee, a 10 member or 11 member committee which will look at our expenditure revenue policies, our tax policies.
“That discussion will feed into the National Economic Summit that we’re going to have in the second week of April.
“Development partners, the sugar industry partners, in fact we should have a thematic session on sugar at the summit so that we can have a thorough discussion.
“We can hear from the others and a process that will feed into the budget that will be delivered in June or July.”
