COVID-19: Four students among arrests in last 24 hours

Four students are among the 28 arrested across the country overnight for breach of the COVID-19 nationwide restrictions.
Fiji’s Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho said the students, aged between 11 and 16 years, were found playing touch rugby at Vesida, Nasinu, with two others – aged 19 and 21.
“It is never an easy situation to see young children be taken into custody with their parents and guardians, however, to avoid these situations, parents and guardians need to be fully alert and know the whereabouts of their children at all times,” Brig-Gen Qiliho said.
Other arrests for breach of curfew included:
- 10 in the Western Division
- Six in the Southern Division
- Five in the Northern Division and
- One n the Eastern Division.
No report was received in the Central Division.
