Schools were scheduled to open next week Monday, April 20, but that has been extended.

Fijian Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said instead, schools would not open until June 15, 2020.

Classes will resume on June 16, 2020.

He said this was an extension that recognised that this virus would be part of our lives for the foreseeable future, and we must plan accordingly.

“The date schools reopen is subject to change based on the situation on the ground at the time,” Mr Bainimarama said.
