COVID-19: Church prays over Police

OVERCOME with emotion, police officers came out of their tents and stood in the rain to be prayed over by members of the Nadi Wesley Church yesterday.
As pastor Meli Vulasekalo prayed over about a dozen officers at the Natalau checkpoint, officers openly wept, and thanked the church group for the visit.
“Firstly, we praise God for giving us this opportunity to be able to come and show compassion and love to these brave policemen and women,” Mr Vulasekalo said.
“We also want to acknowledge Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho for allowing us this visit.
“We shared the Bible verse from Zechariah 4:6 ‘Then he said to me, This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.’
“We shared with the police officers that the battle was not theirs alone, they were doing the work of God by keeping us all safe, by sacrificing time away from their families to keep watch over us.”
About eight members of the Nadi Wesley Church visited three checkpoints at Natalau and Votualevu and handed over pies and cakes during the visit.
