2019/2020 National Budget: PPP allocation to transform quality of medical services

ABOUT $53.4million will be allocated to commence the Lautoka and Ba Public Private Partnership project, Attorney General and Economy Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said while delivering the 2019/2020 Budget address.
He said the project would transform the quality of medical services in Fiji, including a wide range of tertiary medical care.
“These medical services will provide opportunities and age care retirement villages, and we will also introduce a very attractive tax incentive for retirement villages and age care facilities,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.
The Fiji National University, he said, would also be introducing courses in the age care industry.
“This will position Fiji to develop other areas, like retirement villages and age care facilities, and host many large events that we could not capitalise on in the past.”
